In this course, students will investigate innovations as they relate to positively and negatively impacting society. Students will specifically investigate the engineering design solution of dams as they have been built to redirect waterways and create renewable energy while simultaneously interrupting river ecosystems. Students will learn about careers that exist in this field and the essential skills that are needed for these professions such as persistence and creativity. Students will understand complexities of innovation and progress through the lens of water. They will present their data analysis and innovative design solutions to water issues to a public audience.
