Grades 9-12: Physics

ONE WATER CYCLE: Salmon Cannon

Project Description

In this project, students will investigate innovations as they relate to positively and negatively impacting society. Students will specifically investigate the engineering design solution of dams as they have been built to redirect waterways and create renewable energy while simultaneously interrupting the ecosystems of the rivers. Students will learn about careers that exist in this field such as Fishmongers (Fishers), Quality Control Analysts, Physicists and the essential skills that are needed for these professions such as persistence and creativity. Students will understand complexities of innovation and progress through the lens of water. Students will present their data analysis and innovative design solution to a water issue to a public audience.
